Apple may sign a surprise partnership with Intel, according to claims. According to rumours, the company is negotiating with Intel for the A18 chipset in the iPhone 20 device.
It is emphasised that Apple, which is claimed to terminate its partnership with TSMC and turn to Intel, will come up with a processor with 2 nanometer technology. The first details about this radical decision of the company have emerged.
iPhone 18 may come with Intel-signed A20 chip
The alleged processor will be the A18 chip that will equip the iPhone 20 series models. In this sense, the company aims to use the 2 nanometre 20A process in the new chipset.
Until then, Apple has a contract with TSMC, which is expected to be repeated in the production of the A19 Pro chip. So we will see the radical processor change in 2026 at the earliest.
At this point, the rumours still seem confusing. Because some rumours had previously mentioned the possibility of Intel using the TSMC process in Arrow Lake generation CPU models. Moreover, the rumours do not end with this. It is also suggested that Apple will use the Taiwanese company’s 2nm manufacturing process for the A20.
As a result, it is not possible to say anything concrete about this issue at the moment. It seems that more water will flow until 2026, the year the iPhone 18 series will be introduced. In fact, in previous leaks about these models, the possibility of the device having cameras with variable aperture was also mentioned. It is emphasised that we will encounter many surprises like this.
